Practically a mini-break

It involves a ferry trip and everything!

We are packing our bags tonight for a three days training trip to Islay High school. We wondered if we could offer much in the way of advice and support to a school that has earned a stellar reputation for a one-to-one device programme that goes back some eight years but the Headteacher seems confident and enthusiastic about what we are planning to deliver so it sounds like we might manage to offer something beneficial.

Windows 8

We will be delivering Windows 8 sessions focussed on transformative pedagogy and blended assessment. It’s a full three days in the school and we will be working with all departments and learners as well so it should be a great chance to truly make an impact.

Scenery and Whiskey

Hopefully we’ll get a chance to see some of the stunning scenery the island has to offer and maybe even sample a few of the local whiskies. The school itself is in Bowmore, which is one of those peaty malts that divides opinion, but we are going to roll up our sleeves and give it a go.
