Microsoft Showcase Classroom Roadshow – Scotland
Tablet Academy Scotland and Microsoft teamed up to deliver the Microsoft Showcase Regional Classroom Roadshow. We were very excited to be involved on 13th and 14th May for ‘the Scottish leg’. We had two great venues – National Museum of Scotland (Edinburgh), and The Lighthouse (Glasgow) – both stunning environments and the staff there were so friendly and helpful; a big thank you to all staff at both venues. Also a big thank you to Bill and Kate for their hard work in getting the kit to and from the venues.
Because we ran them as half day events, what we offered was a pretty quick overview session where we looked at some of the great options Microsoft has to offer the classroom. As well as exploring Windows devices and functions, we looked at Office 365, OneNote, Sway, Delve and Office Mix.
The split screen function in Windows 8 was a favourite amongst the delegates; being able to have multiple screens open simultaneously proved popular and a useful tool for assessments, marking, homework, but with a lot of scope for experimenting.
Everyone who attended received a FREE tablet and the excitement to get them up and running was evident.
